So why does it feel bad...

My greatest Notebook,

So there I was... The Elder dead, and my mind was everywhere... what is next? What is going to happen now..?

When I looked up I noticed that Lincoln and Harper joined us. Lincoln was distributing tasks, trying to keep Harper happy by making him in charge of the "Militia", himself in charge of the grub and water, and Elona in charge of making sure the Ark continued as it was going and the people stayed happy.

I tried to help the conversation but was quickly silenced by Harper... I don't think he liked me. But in the end Lincoln managed to get Harper to accept the situation... for now...

The news of The Elder dying was spread among the People. Some didn't care, while others were upset or even thought the Ark was doomed. There was a ceremony planned in 2 days, and Elona asked me to say some words and light the pyre! So that's what I spend my time on, while others were still preparing for an incoming attack, and Elona's people were gathering wood for the pyre.

When it was the day to say goodbye, the People gathered around the pyre, and before lighting the pyre, I said some words about The Elder:

- About how he was before he got sick.

• About how he learned me to read and write.
• About his stories of the Old Age!
• But also about how he got sick...
• And that now finally his suffering is over.
• And also that we will continue the Ark based on his foundation!

Then Lincoln said a few words on how he together with Elona and Harper will lead the Ark. It was time, I took the torch and lighted the pyre. Great flames came from the pyre, someone added booze to it!

But after that came the doubts, what about all the things I didn't mention? Should I've told more? What would The Elder think about my speech? Did I do him justice? Luckily I had Tesla that evening to talk to... Awesome as she is, she listened and calmed me down. So I slept very well...

The next day started weird... Bolt came to me, he asked me if I could learn him to read and write! Yes, Bolt stopped working on all the stuff he works on, to ask me, Octavia, to learn him to read and write?!? Of course I said yes! Everyone should learn to read and write, it will make them sooo happy! Tesla and Ruby were also interested <3, so I started a small class for all people that wanted to learn!

The class started a bit messy, but it went well, until suddenly we heard someone yelling: "They are coming!". I almost forgot, but we were going to be attacked!? I quickly gathered my stuff, prepared extra water and pieces of cloth to make sure I could help anyone that got wounded.

Then the chaos began. Shots were fired, people screaming, flames from the flamethrower! The women came with 2 busses! I didn't really payed much attention to how the fight went, I just made sure I treated the people that got hurt. It was terrible, So many people got wounded, I even had to cut off a limb to save someone...! And then there was Krin. She got hurt very badly, and I tried to save her. But it was too late, she lost too much blood...

Then I heard victory screams! We won! I looked around, was everyone still alive? Yes, Tesla, Ruby, Rianna, and even Lincoln, Finn... But wait, where was Bolt?! I went looking for him and noticed the tracked vehicle being gone... Wait, it went through the gate, over the flamethrower, and through a bus!? Bolt must be there! I looked for him and finally found him inside the tracked vehicle. I checked him, and while he was wounded, he was still breathing... I breathed a sigh of relief...

After all that I looked around for more wounded people, even for wounded women. We should save lives if we can! But it seems they all were dead.. besides the 2 they captured. And according to Harper none of them escaped...

So apparently it was a success, but it didn't feel like that... About 40 women died... and there was a Tower left with all their children...
