11 - Another Ark

And a chairman that makes children

My dearest Notebook,

We made camp in a large building close by the Tower. Lincoln and his crew went hunting, while we kept an eye on the Tower, first we looked from above.

We saw woman walking around, men working on the croplands and children running around. The men were also carrying containers with water, which were filled through a pipe on the side of the building via continuous stream of water. It was clear that the woman were in charge, and commanded the men as if they were slaves...

Next we walked to a spot close to the gate and waited. After some time 3 woman went outside and walked towards the North. Tesla and Finn decided to follow them without being seen.

Rianna, me and Bolt were left watching the gate. It only took a short time until Bolt decided to leave in search of (s)crap...

Later that afternoon we heard a noise, which became louder and louder. After a few minutes we saw a large vehicle moving, it had wheels and looked like the ones we saw a few days ago at H-19. It was going at a speed you should be able to run, and stopped at the gate.

In it were about 9 woman, but no sign of the Pure-Ones. There was one weird thing, one of the woman had a large belly, while she wasn't fat... Was that a mutation? Or the Rot?

Rianna ran to a higher floor to be able to look behind the wall, and she noticed the large vehicle to disappear in the tower via some kind of slope! After more waiting we saw 2 of the 3 people that left returning. One of them was carrying a large thing on her shoulder, it could be a human, but a small one? Good, too small to be Finn or Tesla...

At the end of the day just after Lincoln and his crew returned Finn arrived. But without Tesla!... Finn explained she was in a nearby building, and that they had captured a female called Carla. He advised that our woman went to talk with her, since she ignored him being a man. So Rianna and me went to Tesla.

Tesla had Carla blindfolded and gagged. We took her a bit further from the Tower and removed the blindfold and gag. There was asked questions and learned a lot about the Tower and even more!

• There were about 150 people living in the Tower
• There was a boss called the Chairman, which was a man?!
• Since he could make children he was the boss, and all the other man were useless.
• She explained how they made children, and apparently the large belly was a child growing inside the woman!
• They saw the Pure-Ones as Zone-Ghouls
• They eat Zone-Ghouls
• Men were called Givers, and they were a kind of slaves
• If we wanted to save the Pure-Ones, we should talk to the Chairman
• They didn't have Rot inside, and when we would arrive there we would have to wash ourselves
• The wall and guns were just to protect them against Zone-Ghouls, of which they have a lot
• We are the first other people they encountered
• She thinks it's safe for us and our men to enter the Tower

It was when were done asking questions and were walking back towards our camp when Rianna and Tesla noticed the sound of a Seagull. Tesla recognized it as a signal from on of our stalkers, and signaled back. Then Jo-Ann appeared from the dark! What was she doing out here?!

She had an important message for us from Elona, who send out multiple stalkers in search for us. The message was:

"The Elder is dying, and on his death Harper will take over, please come quickly"

That was not good! And I'm sure Lincoln will not let that happen! But then we should be at the ark to stop it! And is Ruby safe??? We should go back as soon as possible, she could be in danger!!

But going back during the night through the Zone would be a death-sentence. So we have to wait till morning... At least we could maybe spend the night in the Tower, and see if we can get the Pure-Ones free?
