[[Maeve]]’s eyes dart wildly, her breaths quickening as if she sees demons lurking in every shadow. "I'll keep a close watch," I assure her, often running ahead to check for evil. In the distance, a shadow looms in the mist. As we approach, the sound of gushing water grows louder. We reach a ten-foot-high circular stone structure with a fountain of water cascading from the top. I leap onto the ledge and spot a stuffed animal, a thimble, a toy windmill and a bottle floating in the water. Four light-emitting orbs circle the fountain, casting an eerie glow.

I try to jump into the water, but the incredible force pushes me back, landing me face-first in the swamp. Frostbite pulls me out, explaining, "Those orbs are Will’o’wisps, the remains of dead people. They’re not just lights; they’re intelligent, and can be dangerous”. I wonder if these four could be some of the missing children from the carnival so I pull out the posters I gathered there, but unfortunately there's not enough detail to determine if these toys could've belonged to them. Then I start calling out the names from the posters but notice no specific response. They do start to whisper to us though: "We can't stray from the well...". We learn that they lived in [[Brismir]] and that [[Bavlorna]] had them killed. They ask us to get revenge on her. [[Frostbite]] and me agree to look into this. Not so much trouble as we were heading there anyhow. [[Maeve]] asks them about [[Longscarf]], a name mentioned in the song of the Harengon brigands.

The wisps also tell us that [[Bavlorna]] can be found in [[Downfall]], a bullywug village, but everything is constantly shifting over here. Time to be of again. The wisps follow us for a while but than retreat back to the well.

Together with [[Dhanell]] I manage to navigate the swamp in the direction of the crashed balloon. The swampy puddles are getting deeper and deeper, and the stench is everywhere to be smelled. Gross! After an hour walk we reach a crumbling leaning stone tower. Brambles grow along it's base. But we did find the crashed balloon. It's dangling from the tower peak, the basket hanging thirty feet from the ground. We call out if anybody needs help and there's a response that indeed help would be appreciated, but that we should be really careful and silent as two huge snakes are hidden in the brambles guarding this place.

[[Dhanell]] sets the brambles on fire to clear a spot beneath the basket. Meanwhile, I don't want to wait, so I try out my Monarch reward. I grow a pair of wings and zoom through the sky. Inside the basket, I see a dead bullywug and a caged faery dragon, [[Sir Talavar]]. Attempting to open the cage, I manage to break my quarterstaff into two one-eighth staffs... But the cage won't budge. [[Sir Talavar]] explains that [[Jingle Jangle]] has the key.

The ruckus I've caused alerts the snakes, and they come slithering towards us to attack. I do a dive attack and kick and stomp one of the snakes. Even though I hurt it quite a bit, it still manages to grab and entangle me. Meanwhile, [[Maeve]] taunts the snakes, saying their mother was a garden hose, which seems to piss them off dearly. [[Frostbit]]e has a nice trick up his sleeve and breathes on them, chilling them (and me, as I'm being held). With some nice maneuvers, I manage to break free luckily and continue my onslaught together with the others. [[Dhanell]] lets out a thundering roar, which even shudders the tower. [[Ashira]] finishes off one of the snakes, which was holding on to the tower. As it collapses, so does the tower, causing the basket to fall to the ground. I finish off the second snake with more stomps after the others had already severely softened it up. [[Frostbite]] was even foaming at the mouth while doing so and is now retreating somewhat to cool down.

Maeve’s eyes dart wildly, her breaths quickening as if she sees demons lurking in every shadow.

I try to jump into the water, but an incredible force pushes me back, causing me to land face-first in the swamp. Frostbite pulls me out and explains, "Those orbs are Will’o’wisps, the remains of dead people. They’re not just lights; they’re intelligent and can be dangerous."

I wonder if these four could be some of the missing children from the carnival. I pull out the posters I gathered there, but unfortunately, there's not enough detail to determine if these toys could've belonged to them. I start calling out the names from the posters but notice no specific response. They start to whisper to us, saying, "We can't stray from the well..."

We learn that they lived in Brismir and that Bavlorna had them killed. They ask us to get revenge on her. Frostbite and I agree to look into this, as we were heading there anyhow. Maeve asks them about Longscarf, a name mentioned in the song of the harengon brigands.

The wisps also tell us that Bavlorna can be found in Downfall, a bullywug village, but everything is constantly shifting here. Time to be off again. The wisps follow us for a while but then retreat back to the well.

Together with Dhanell, I manage to navigate the swamp in the direction of the crashed balloon. The swampy puddles grow deeper and deeper, and the stench is overwhelming. Gross! After an hour's walk, we reach a crumbling, leaning stone tower. Brambles grow along its base. But we did find the crashed balloon. It's dangling from the tower peak, the basket hanging thirty feet from the ground. We call out if anybody needs help, and there's a response that indeed help would be appreciated, but we should be really careful and silent as two huge snakes are hidden in the brambles guarding this place.

Dhanell sets the brambles on fire to clear a spot beneath the basket. Meanwhile, I don't want to wait, so I try out my Monarch reward. I grow a pair of wings and zoom through the sky. Inside the basket, I see a dead bullywug and a caged faery dragon, Sir Talavar. Attempting to open the cage, I manage to break my quarterstaff into two one-eighth staffs... But the cage won't budge. Sir Talavar explains that Jingle Jangle has the key.

The ruckus I've caused alerts the snakes, and they come slithering towards us to attack. I do a dive attack and kick and stomp one of the snakes. Even though I hurt it quite a bit, it still manages to grab and entangle me. Meanwhile, Maeve taunts the snakes, saying their mother was a garden hose, which seems to piss them off dearly. Frostbite has a nice trick up his sleeve and breathes on them, chilling them (and me, as I'm being held). With some nice maneuvers, I manage to break free luckily and continue my onslaught together with the others. Dhanell lets out a thundering roar, which even shudders the tower. Ashira finishes off one of the snakes, which was holding on to the tower. As it collapses, so does the tower, causing the basket to fall to the ground. I finish off the second snake with more stomps after the others had already severely softened it up. Frostbite was even foaming at the mouth while doing so and is now retreating somewhat to cool down.
