5. Madam Eva (Ulf)

In-game: Day 3-4

The Camp

We arrived at the gypsy camp, and were invited to join the campfire and drink wine. We had to wait some time before we could meet Madam Eva. Dunston sat down, me and Urgoth kept standing and listened to the story. The others went to Madam Eva's tent and waited there. An older gypsy started to tell some story about how a wizard tried to fight Strash. After that we could meet Madam Eva.

Madam Eva

We entered the tent, and an older woman was sitting there, with 2 deck of cards in front of her. She welcomed each of us seperately. To me she asked if my connection to Aatu was still good here. Which was a stupid question since I always carry him with me, right Aatu! But still, she had no way of knowing anything about Aatu. The only one she didn't greet was Ireena. I asked why, and Eva mentioned something about her being from here. But later she said it might be good that she joined. And Aatu, if the next part is vague, it's because of this Madam Eva. For some reason she couldn't just say what she knew. But it had to be vague and not clear. So maybe I remember it wrong, but it is what it is.

So she took some cards from the decks she had, and was saying it was to help us. I don't think it did, but i'm sure Lowna will remember the details if needed. She really is a smart girl! All I remember was that we needed to visit a swamp and a lake with a tower. And get some sword from a mad wizard. After that we had more questions and Eva answered them very vague again. And at some point she was refering to something that had bitten Ireena. Since Ireena didn't want to tell what it was I guess she wasn't talking about a mosquito. Also Eva thought she looked like someone, and Dunston was convinced it was Stradh's mom. Don't ask me why Aatu...

When we were asking what Eva knew about the mill, Thorndyke suddenly took out some paper. He told us that it was the ownership document of the mill. If that was true, it might be easy to get the crazy old woman out of there.

Bitten by Stradh

Outside we decided to make our own campfire a litte away from the gypsys, and there Ireena told us her story. If you could call it a story, it went like this: "I was bitten by Stradh twice". Yes Aatu, that was all! She said the memories were vague and didn't know how and when. All she knew is that it was Stradh. And indeed, we already found out she wasn't a vampire, so for some reason she was immune! After some more discussion we slept around the campfire.

To the Mill

The next morning we left on our way to the mill. It was half a day walk uphill when we reached a bridge over waterfall. End the end of that day there was a splitting in the road. And on the right side there was a dark carriage, with 2 black horses in front of it. Suddenly the door opened, but nobody came out of it. I started to talk to the horses. But they didn't respond, as if they were ignoring me. It looked like they were heavily trained to ignore anything and i couldn't even start a conversation with them. The others checked inside and there was nothing. So Urgoth closed the doors. Then the horses started to run and 100 yard later we saw the door open and Thonrdyke jumping out of the riding carriage. It turned out he was still inside.

We leared this road probably led to caste Ravenloft. So we took the other road and found a big gate. The as we encountered when we just entered Barovia. It opened automatically when we came close. We went through the gate and there we looked for a place to spend the night.
