Session 3 (Purkin)

"Smashin Purkins"

Played on June 30th, 2013

Date: 18th day of the 3rd Moon. Year of the Runeforge. Afternoon.

As the screeches of the cockatrices die out, the mining cart is turned over and a goblin appears. He's very happy that we saved him and he wants to help us the forever stone. He even has some info on the stone. Apparently it's protected by a wizard with a bunch of dwarves. Other than that we learned his name is Hughug and it seems he wasn't given that name for nothing. Clenchy little fellow.
As we continue through he dungeon there were some weird enquiries about Thrur's shaft, but no idea where Dorje was going with that.
Eventually we pass a wall which looked suspiciously trappy. While the rest was trying to find out who to throw against the wall to see what it does I hit it with my quarterstaff, which instantly stuck to it. I'd better not have done that as it started "attacking" me. I quickly ran out of it's way while the others get busy hitting it, until a well slung stone from Hughug had it crumble to dust. Everything which had gotten stuck to the wall fell on the floor including my staff.

We enter the hallway which opened up as the Mimic wall died. At the end we find a dorf statue at the top of a spiralling staircase. It's got a hand stretched out as if it wants to shake your hand so I did. It's mouth opens up and a ring fell out. Lausian tried to warn me but I was so intrigued by the gleaming ring that I instantly put it on my finger. It ft really snuggly.
The other tried to shake its hand to in the hopes of nice treasure. Someone got a bunch of gold coins. The others basically just got some fortune cookie text like "Look out for the green dragon" or "The Gargoyle knows the password". Although some of the meaning might have gotten lost in translation.

Ok, backtracking as we wanted to explore this entire floor first. We run into a big black massive granite 10 foot boulder seemingly stuck in an alcove. It looks like a masssive trap contraption as to the right we see a nice hallway which looks like an excellent track for this boulder. Zebediah seemingly unworried follows this track, somehow triggering the ball. As he walks out of our sight, the ball catapultes from the alcove and down the slope.
I try to use a frost spell to slow the ball but to no avail. I hope Zebdiah will survive, and I quickly sprint after the ball to see if I can do something. As I run into Zebediah he looks a bit beaten up and signals me to stop running to avoid triggering the trap again.... Uhm... again?!?!! Aaah yes, somehow a new ball reappared at the top and also started rolling down again. I try to make myself really small against the wall, but I still get knocked around. I scramble to my feet and start running back to the top of the slope to avoid a third ball which would definately have been my demise. Thrur, who had followed me down, somehow managed to get to the bottom of the slope, even though he got hit by the ball too. Zebediah got crunched a second time, but survived. He joins us at the top.
We yelled at Thrur that we'd try to find another route to his position. Dorje thought he might have found a way around the black ball trap. We go back to the room with the three doors and take the third door behind which we had seen two 10 foot chasms with planks across them. A few jump across and after some yelling back and forth we are reunited with Thrur. To avoid that the less jumpy people fall down due to the planks breaking we build more sturdy bridges across the gaps using the mining cart tracks. Looking down the gaps I spot some weird stuff, stuff which fell down the second gap all of a sudden appared at the bottom of the first...
At the sound end Thrur had heard moaning coming from the other side of the wall. All the cool guys start hammering and pickaxing at the wall, trying to create a hole to find out what's causing the moans.
