Session 4 (Manon-Thérèse)

Played on 24 October, 2010

close-up of Manon-Thérèse As recorded by our reporter, Manon-Thérèse Renard.

Things are breaking down

Day Of Awakening

There was confusion in the communications room, during which Mr. Morrison grabbed the calculator-pad from Abigail. He claimed that Abigail wasn't doing anything. He tried to get more information from the pad and actually discovered a list of passengers. À mon regret, he couldn't access it and we couldn't find my family with it. In the end, we all agreed that Abigail should continu her work and that Mr. Morrison should do something useful.

We also agreed that we should explore the lower levels. Knut, the big gruff guy, immediately went ahead and opened the lock. Of course, Mr. Morrison was hovering on it on his hoverskates ridicules and he didn't pay attention. He almost dropped 80 meters downwards! Fortunately for him, Knut could grab him in time. I sincerely hope that the injuries that Morrison sustained will serve as a warning for the next time he wants to poke his nose into business that are not his!
We descended along the stairs -- we being Knut, Rusty, Morrison, the politician, Bennet, the old man Joris and la fille Jasmin. Downstairs there was an enormous door that opened only halfway, another indication that not all was functioning properly.
From an off-hand remark we learned that Rusty had been attacked while exploring upstairs! To my surprise, that wasn't mentioned earlier and I must say, the group as a whole barely reacted to this unnerving information. Jasmin and I, however, grabbed our tasers and I urged her to stay close to Knut and Rusty, those being the more physically imposing people.

We wandered through the lower levels, where we found a garage, a workshop and a number of ground-based vehicles. We checked out the latter. Bennet was getting restless and wanted to run ahead, but Rusty would have none of that. He reprimanded Bennet. I understood that everybody was as on edge as I was, but that not everybody could handle the stress well. I'm afraid that Bennet did not take Rusty's orders well, however.
Indeed, a short time later we missed Bennet and it turned out he had left our group behind. The door through which we had come was closed and warned us that behind it lay a vacuum. He had left his sketch book behind, and I investigated that -- unfortunately only after Mr. Morrison had rummaged with it. Nonetheless I surmised that the placement indicated that Bennet had indeed left through the door. Bennet was a prolific artist, seeing that he already had filled about forty pages with sketches based on us! Before that there were some rather depressing drawings.

We proceeded to explore and came upon a cargo lift, somewhat embeddened into the floor. The lift's floor was concave and we conjectured that another vacuum could be under it.
Next there was an incoming call -- it turned out that comm-devices were artfully hidden along the walls. The call was from Mr. Morgenberg, and I quickly shoved Knut and Mr. Morrison aside to take it. Not that I was a big fan of the CEO, but I understood that we had to work together to get anything done in these dire circumstances. I charmed the CEO into working along with us, having him keep us to date regarding Bennet's whereabouts. Well, perhaps not himself but he would convey the query to Abigail.
For a short time the lights fail and we're in utter darkness. I screamed but the lights re-ignite immediately. Nonetheless, these malfunctions kept me worried and on edge.

Our group (sans Bennet) gathered at the motorshop where it was decided that Rusty would brave the vacuum near the stairs and investigate the cause. I lent him my dear lighter as an instrument to test the presence of oxygene. Furthermore, I instructed Abigail via the comm to keep the intermediate locks closed.
After a short while, the android returned with the message that room was no longer a vacuum. This was confirmed by Abigail. Rusty also noted that the door towards the fuel purification room was open as well.

The politician and Knut decided to ascend the ladder, and Joris tried to follow them. Before he could try to climb the 80 meters, I asked him why we was doing so. He assented that he could also wait with Mme. Jasmin and me.

Bang! A loud noise cut through the silence as the door toward the fuel purification room got hit by an explosion from the other side! Bang bang! Two more explosions immediately followed. Jasmin, Joris and I quickly ran towards the communication pad next to the workbench and we tried to reach our fellow passengers upstairs. Jasmin sharply noted that only three vehicles remained at the garage, which we had passed.
