Revelations

11 November 2273 2378

I don't recall that much from the travel to be honest, mainly because I was slipping in and out of consciousness due to the sedative I had been given to relieve the pain in my arm. I can vaguely recall our expedition's survivors being put into some large vehicle by our 'rescuers' and a trip of several hours through the lush jungle. At some point during the jungle Knut mentioned something about a 150 foot creature walking in the jungle, but that might also have been the fever. I just can't remember.

We passed through some villages containing settlers. They looked like what you would expect from settlers: simple hard-working folk who did not spend too much time or worries to appearances. After the 2nd orso village I dozed off again.

I was awoken pretty rudely by someone, most likely due to my loud snore, just in time to see a very large building, a palace of some sort on a mountain ridge. We passed through some sort of large gate in the palace and looked upon a large city in the valley beyond. Eventually we were brought to some office with a man behind a desk who introduced himself as Guõ Jiao Long.

Mr Long turned out to be the Gnapho II equivalent of an immigrations officer. His secretary, Mrs. Kao offered us some seats and Mr Long brought our group up to speed about the current affairs on the planet. Most importantly, he told us that instead of the year being 2273, it was 2378, meaning we had been underway almost 250 years instead of 150. And although the human settlers currently on Gnapho II, departed decades after us, they arrived there almost 60 years ago using a weird device called a stargate from Sirius II.

Standing in the corner of the room, another gentleman, who introduced himself as Mr Cheng An Ming of the Synopec corporation, silently followed the scene. He wasn't very talkative, but with my trained poker-eye I could find out he was more than averagely interested in our metal friend Rusty. He also gave a very minor reaction when we mentioned the second sister ship that had accompanied us. Maybe I can make some money using that knowledge to serve my purpose.

Mr Long offered our party refuge on Gnapho II, but gave us some time to think things over. We were brought to some sort of hotelroom containing a large screen on which some sort of propaganda welcome movie was playing on repeat.

I wanted to have an additional conversation with Mr Chen, so I used to communications device to call out. After some minor communicative issues, Mr Chen appeared. Some stupid sheningans with the hotel room door ensued, with Knut wanting to break it down as a sad pinnacle. After that, Mr Chen proceeded to tell us something totally uninteresting about the 250 years we missed. Something about a corporate restruction war, colonization of Hyle, a planet around Proxima Centauri, a Commonwealth of planets and the fact that there were only a few corporation left on earth. The fact that did interest me was the fact that the people on Gnapho II (and most likely everywhere else as well) still used money. The currency was called Galactic Credits and I think it is about time I get my hands on copious amounts of them.
