Day 22

After we took the short rest Arisys scouted the area. In the forge room there were Ogres and Hobgoblins guarding the area. It seemed to be the Ogres that were in the other room, since that room was empty now. So we decided to check out that direction first.

The room had an exit which led to a long tunnel. And after walking some time it started to have mining sideways. I was pretty sure this would lead to some of the other underground places we visited. Maybe under the monastery, or the underground lake, or the dwarven city with the pyramid! So many options! But the rest wanted to go back, so we went back.

Because the forge was guarded we decided to check the stairs going upstairs. After Arisys checked if it was save we quickly went upstairs, unnoticed by the guards at the forge. There was another door leading to a small hallway. That ended up in another room where Arisys noticed some guards. It weren't too many so we decided that we could handle them. We made a plan and executed it almost perfect, it went like this:

First Varaf placed a Hunger of Hadar in the room, with 3 guards inside it. Next Lirmyi Put a Stinking Cloud on top of that. Which would prevent them from moving out. This went perfectly, and we were pretty sure we heared 2 of them dying. We were waiting outside of the area in case someone would come out. We also heared someone asking who we were, and why we attacked them. Then we were suprised with a Firewall a few feet before me. It hurt like hell and we quickly moved out. A little after that a Fireball was cast on us. I was glad I took my Fire resistance potion before that! The rest of our party started to move back out of Fireball range while I stood at the frontline guarding the hallway we were in.

Varaf had an idea where the caster was standing and tried to hit him through the Firewall. It appears that he hit him, but after that he was gone again. When the Firewall finally disappeared it seems the enemies were all behind it, ready to attack. I stood on the hallway and dodged the incoming attacks, while the rest of our party moved in to cast a spell or shoot an arrow and quickly ran back again. With my dodging skills and the Fire resistance potion I used it became very hard for them to hit me. And one of the casters started to ran away, screaming that the dwarf was invulnerable! The Genasi that put the Firewall down also didn't saw them win the fight and created some kind of portal in which he disappeared. After that we quickly took control of the rest of the combat and made sure nobody else escaped.

We searched the room and the 2 small rooms connected to it but didn't find much interesting stuff. Some gold, but that was about it.
