Day 27
We continued exploring and Naeris heard some voices behind a double door, but couldn't understand them. So we took position, and Maret and me pushed the doors open. We saw a priestess talking to a female gnome which was chained to a black obelisk. There were also 4 other persons in the room. I ran inside, enlarged myself so I doubled in size in each direction and grabbed the priestess and told her to release the gnome. In the meanwhile the others quickly took care of the 4 others. But the priestess finished some kind of ritual and a weird creature which I later found out to be called Black Pudding appeared above the gnome. It started to touch the gnome and it started screaming. Varaf then banished the Black Pudding to its home planet with a faint popping noise. The priestess was killed and I pulled the chains from the Obelisk. And thanks to Maret's healing the gnome lived.
The gnome was warning us that we should leave this place. That we should not go downstairs because there was some kind of portal to the Elemental plane opening. I didn't completely understood what she meant. She also warned that the leader was a Medusa which could turn us into stone. We decided to take a rest and told the gnome the way to the exit was safe. We continued after our rest.
We found a big door, but didn't hear anything behind it. Pretty close to it there was another door where we did hear talking. Varaf had a plan and we all stood behind a corner while he made a Silent Image of the human on the Landshark. Then he remotely smahes the door open. The people inside were suprised and were asking what he was doing. Right after that we ran in, and apparently they were not expecting that. We took out most of them before they had time to react. Varaf seemed very pleased when we killed the Earth Genasi that was inside.
The room lead to another room that had access to an arrow slit towards the entrance of the city. There was also a very narrow hallway leading north. We let the thinnest of us, Lirmiy, explore it. He told us that it ended in a large cave. And a 1-feet thin ledge went around the edge of the cave to the other side, where there was an exit. At the bottom of the cave he didn't saw a way to get out.
We decided not to enter and try to move around the cave to prevent us from falling. Too bad, since I was expecting that we could suprise the Medusa if we would approach her from that side.
